Race 7 No. 4 SINO WITNESS – ($8.50)

Stacey Metcalfe pumped SINO WITNESS out of the gates with clear intention to lead the field here at Port Lincoln Racecourse. The pair hummed along over this track and distance before moving further clear into the straight. Sino Witness went all the way while racing third-up to beat a handy field in smart time. Sino Witness has drawn better this time around and local trainers Julie Branford and Hayley Dorward will only have their horse fitter and ready to peak into his prep.

Race 1 No. 5 GILDED LADY – ($4.25)

Trainer Garret Lynch is back to guide GILDED LADY over the line at Port Lincoln Racecourse on Sunday. Fellow Murray Bridge trainers Ron Daniel and Trish Stanbury went oh so close to a win here on debut with the filly. She was taken back at the start to give the leaders a big start as the pace went on. Teagan Voorham brought her out to the middle part of the track where Gilded Lady let down to just miss the winner in a four-way go over this trip. Since jumped sharply to lead and ran a good time under Maggie Collett on Melbourne Cup Day at Mildura. The pair were claimed late in the shadows to run second again and Gilded Lady looks well placed to finish over them from just off the speed in this.

Race 2 No. 1 TANE TOA – ($7.50)

The leading local stable of John Dunn and Krystal Bishop produced TANE TOA to run yet another second placing when racing first-up here. The horse was beaten for speed as Gerry’s Deal set an electrifying tempo over the 1000 metres. Doorbel had followed the leader into the run before opening up with a winning break into the straight. Tane Toa balanced up from out in the middle of the track to close hard for a minor placing. Gun apprentice Rochelle Milnes retains the ride from a middle gate with the stable electing to step their consistent galloper out to another furlong or so.
