BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.4  RANGATIRA

The John Rolfe-trained RANGATIRA is in great touch of late and looks a serious contender in this contest. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding recorded his second win this preparation when he took out a BM58, here over 1460m. He steps-up to mile today and faces a class rise as well but drops in weight for the event. Pierre Boudvillain has steered the four-year-old to victory twice previously and has the reins again. In winning form, he can get the job done here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.10  ASTUNNER

The Gratz Vella-trained ASTUNNER has a strong record on this track and in top-shelf form at his past four starts, ticks all the boxes that suggest he can bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Xtravagant gelding made it back-to-back wins when he showed great fight to hang on and take out a BM66, here over the mile. With Damon Budler aboard, the four-year-old led from the outset and fended off all challenges to take home first prize. Budler sticks with him today and from gate one, he should lead without challenge. He is up in grade but drops in weight and already a track and distance winner, he looks in the mix here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.3  SHE’S JESSIE

Ben Smith saddles-up SHE’S JESSIE here who also boasts a strong record at the track and second-up today, looks a winning chance in this field. Last start, the Territories mare resumed off a 15-week spell and showing no signs of fatigue, finished too strong for them, taking out a BM58 Hcp, here over 1000m with Jess Del Frari in the saddle. She now has two wins and a close-up second from three starts at the track and with Del Frari remaining aboard, the mare looks a solid chance of back-to-back victories today.
