BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.1 HIRAISHIN ($4 with bet365)
The Rod Northam-trained HIRAISHIN is back to his best and with three starts behind him this preparation, he looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Mikki Isle gelding was third-up when he took out a BM58 over 1280m at Muswellbrook with Chelsea Hillier in the saddle. The five-year-old makes his track debut today and has three wins over this trip already on his resume. Hillier’s seven previous rides on the galloper have resulted in two wins and three runner-up finishes as she takes the reins again for this assignment. Nicely drawn in gate four today, he maps to settle near the speed and should prove hard to beat here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.2 INSIGHTFUL AWARD ($5 with Ladbrokes)
Scott Singleton saddles-up INSIGHTFUL AWARD here who has improved with three starts this preparation and looks on-track to go two-straight today. Last start, the Shamus Award mare stripped fitter for two runs back when third-up, she got the job done at Armidale by taking out a BM58 Hcp over 1100m with Mitch Stapleford at the helm. She drew the fence that day and settled mid-field with Stapleford playing the patience card. Held up on the turn, the gap came passing the 100m mark and she drove through the gap to grab victory near the line. Stapleford retains the ride and brings along his 3kg claim which will help here. Her only start here resulted in a maiden win over 1000m so she has track experience on her side. She maps to settle mid-field with cover and with a trouble-free run today, she looks a serious threat to these in this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.3 TWENTYEIGHTDRAGONS ($7.60 with BoomBet)
Armidale galloper, TWENTYEIGHTDRAGONS is high flying this time in and looks every chance of making his Quirindi debut a winning one today. Two starts back, the Foxwedge gelding had his first start for the Jane Clement stable (formerly with Benjamin Smith) and made his stable debut a memorable one when he totally destroyed a 10-strong Maiden field at Inverell where he put eight lengths on them over 1400m (at a Non-TAB meeting). Then last start, the six-year-old missed by a whisker in claiming victory at Moree where he finished second in a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m with Braith Nock on board. Fitter for three runs now, he faces similar company today and has Nock sticking with him for the assignment. His last two runs were most impressive and from an ideal draw in gate three today, he looks a little overs in this contest and is well worth an each-way ticket here.
