The Cody Morgan-trained COOL RULER makes her Quirindi debut today and second-up here looks every chance of going back-to-back. Last start, the Territories mare resumed after more than ten months off the scene and on fresh legs, broke through for her maiden win over 1000m at Gilgandra. Ridden a real treat by Anna Roper, she took control on the home turn and then cruised to a comfortable victory, putting two lengths on them over the line. This looks no harder and with Roper remaining aboard, she looks the one to beat today.

Race 5:  No.2  HARDLY THE END  ($6 with BoomBet)

Dubbo galloper HARDLY THE END makes his Quirindi debut today and third-up, looks a serious contender for the major prize here. Last start, the All Too Hard mare came off a first-up win at Warren when she finished mid-field in a BM58 over 1118m on her home track. She drew wide that day (10 of 11) and was held up in the run home. Clay Gallagher has ridden her seven times now and was aboard for all three career wins to date. Drawn much better today, she jumps from gate four and is already a winner when third-up. A clear run to the line today could see her finishing ahead of this field.

Race 7:  No.8  SPIRIT OF PLUTO  ($12 with Ladbrokes)

Todd Payne saddles-up SPIRIT OF PLUTO here who has improved in three starts this campaign and now looks ready to win. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom gelding made it two-straight podium finishes when he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1000m at Gunnedah. Whilst no match for the winner that day, he held the rest at bay and finished more than two lengths ahead of them over the line. Kelsey Lenton has been on board for all three starts this time in and sticks with the six-year0old today. Ideally drawn in gate two, he should be at his peak today and looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
