Race 4:  No.6  BAT OUT OF HELL  ($2.60 with Neds)

The Maher & Eustace-trained BAT OUT OF HELL have proven to be a very consistent galloper and looks well placed here to bring up his third career-win today. Last start, the Hellbent gelding recorded his eighth podium finish from ten career starts when finishing third in a BM72 Hcp over 1400m, here on the main track. Having no luck that day, he box-seated in the run and couldn’t get clear in the run home, beaten a length on the line. He is drawn out today (which could prove to be an advantage) and has James McDonald on board for the first time. With better luck in running, he will take beating today.

Race 3:  No.2  THE MILKYBAR KID  ($3.90 with Ladbrokes)

The Waterhouse & Bott stable saddle-up THE MILKYBAR KID here who is second-up today and should prove hard to run in this contest. Last start, the Reliable Man gelding resumed from a six-month absence and was clearly in need of the run when finishing a fading fourth at Warwick Farm in a BM72 over the 1600m journey. Carrying 61kgs, he led in the run home but was found wanting over the final 200m and finished almost five lengths behind the placegetters. He sports a major gear change today as the stable re-fit the blinkers here and boasting track and distance success previously and already a winner when second-up, we should see improvement with him today.

Race 5:  No.6  PRINCIPESSA  ($6.50 with bet365)

The Joe Pride-trained PRINCIPESSA is another consistent galloper who has finished top-two in four of her six starts this preparation and looks well placed here to bring up another one at odds. Last start, the Vadamos mare came off a good win, here on the Kensington track, when she stepped-up to BM78 grade and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth in the 1200m contest. She settled well back that day and was unable to reel them in, beaten 2.5 lengths on the line. The step-up to the 1550m here looks ideal now and she has the fitness on her side as well. Jason Collett has steered her to both career wins and takes the reins today for the tenth time with the mare. She has the outside gate but will drop back anyway and has the extra distance to play with here. She should be storming home late and figure in the finish at odds today.
