BEST BET 🏆
Race 10: No.7 KA BLING ($3.60 with Ladbrokes)
The Team Snowden-trained KA BLING has improved with each start this time in and should now be ready to show us his best today. Last start, the Capitalist gelding was third-up when he took on a BM88 on this track when (again), he found one better, finishing second in the 1200m event. Regan Bayliss had him two pairs back on settling but turning for home, the leader (Much Much Better) was off for the prize and saw it out in the end. The five-year-old did well to finish just half a length back over the line. Fitter for three runs back, he should be at his peak today as he gets all the favours from gate one and has Bayliss sticking with him. There is plenty of early speed here which will suit him even more. A trouble-free run should see him hard to beat today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.8 IKNOWASTAR ($5.30 with BoomBet)
Bjorn Baker saddles-up IKNOWASTAR here who has the best looking picket fence next to his name and has a better than even chance of winning here. Last start, the Star Witness gelding defied the odds when he led from barrier to box in a BM78 Hcp over the mile on the Kensington course. That day, he carried 61kgs and still put 1.5 lengths on them in a fine front-running display. He draws ideally in gate three here and (as expected) maps to lead this field as well. Tyler Schiller has his third ride on the four-year-old today and will be keen to secure his first win on the galloper. If he is allowed to jump ‘n’ run and dictate the speed, they just might find it hard to run him down again. The big bonus here is he drops 8kgs (more than a stone on the old scale) for the event, giving the higher rated brigade a real task today. An each-way ticket looks the go here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4: No.13 METALLIC RULER ($11 with bet365)
The Sam Kavanagh-trained METALLIC RULER is third-up today and looks well placed here to secure back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Capitalist colt showed a ton of improvement when second-up, he did best to win a Class 1 Midway Hcp over 1200m at Newcastle. Chad Schofield is the pilot today and from a favourable draw in gate three, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover. This is a little tougher but third-up and even fitter today, he looks well worth an each-way ticket here.
