Race 2:  No.1  STEP ASIDE  ($3.80 with bet365)

The Chris Waller-trained STEP ASIDE is second-up here and looks every chance of going back-to-back. Last start, the Redwood gelding was fresh off an 18-week break when he finished best to take out a BM72 over 1300m at Rosehill. Nash Rawiller has the reins here where he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle near mid-field with cover. The 1400m looks ideal and with a trouble-free run, he should prove hard to hold out.

Race 6:  No.8  TOESONTHENOSE  ($8.50 with Bet Right)

The John Sargent-trained TOESONTHENOSE has found his mojo of late and looks a genuine chance of bringing up the hat-trick here. Last start, the Ocean Park gelding settled in the box seat and perfectly ridden by Nash Rawiller, slipped through the gap soon after straightening and that was all she wrote, as he went on to win by 1.5 lengths on the line. This is a lot tougher than that BM78 event but he does drop 4.5kgs here and welcomes back Tom Sherry who has steered him to three of his six wins to date. Whilst in career-best form, strike while the iron is hot,

Race 9:  No.4  ITA  ($34 with Palmerbet)

Bjorn Baker saddles-up ITA here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to suggest she can cause an upset in this contest. Last start, the All Too Hard mare resumed off a four-month break when in need of the run, she finished mid-field in a BM94 over 1300m at Newcastle. She drops back in grade here and boasts a strong second-up record, with five previous appearances ending with two wins and three minor money finishes. Dylan Gibbons returns for his fourth ride on the mare and if he can find cover early and avoid trouble, she has a good finish and fitter for one run back, and already a two-time winner at the track, she is capable of figuring here.
