Race 4: No.6 GRINGOTTS ($4.20 with Palmerbet)
The Maher & Eustace camp saddle-up GRINGOTTS here who is making his debut appearance in Sydney and looks right in the mix among these. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding resumed off a lengthy five-month break and did well to finish third in a BM84 over 1200m at Moonee Valley. He steps-up to his pet-distance here and has Chad Schofield as the pilot for this assignment. Yet to miss a podium finish in six career-starts to date, he is a two-time winner at the 1400m and fitter for that first-up effort, he will take beating here.

Race 5: No.4 MONTEFILIA ($4.65 with BoomBet)
The Chris Waller-trained MONTEFILIA has enjoyed multiple success in black-type races and third-up here looks set to produce her best. Last start, the Kermadec mare wasn’t disgraced when finishing mid-field in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes over an unsuitable 1600m. Her last victory was in last year’s Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) with Jason Collett aboard who returns here for this assignment. She ticks all the boxes here and is already a winner when third-up. Fitter for those two runs back, we should be seeing the best of her in this contest.

Race 6: No.3 KIMOCHI ($4.25 with BoomBet)
The Gary Portelli-trained KIMOCHI is third-up here and yet to miss a top-three finish in her five career-starts, looks poised to keep that trend going in this contest. Last start, the Japanese-sired filly was second-up and impressed when beating all but Tiz Invincible home in the Group 2 Furious Stakes. Coming from near last on the turn, Jason Collett wound her up and she stormed home to grab that silver medal on the line. Collett remains in the saddle as the filly draws well in gate five. The step-up to the 1400m looks ideal and at her peak here, she should prove hard to beat.
