The John Sargent-trained CASUAL CONNECTION has found his mojo after six starts back and looks well placed here for back-to-back wins today. Last start, the Complacent gelding registered his first win for this campaign when he arrived in time to get the decision in a blanket finish at Warwick Farm. Four of them hit the line together with the five-year-old doing best on the line in a BM72 over 2400m. Lee Magorrian was aboard that day and did a mighty job to get the galloper home after drawing the outside gate (11) for the race. Strike while the iron is hot they say, and we share that advice here as we put him on top today.

Race 4: No.5 FAIRWAY STAR ($6.10 with BoomBet)
The Bjorn Baker-trained FAIRWAY STAR is second-up here and looks capable of giving this field a real fright today. Last start, the Spieth mare resumed off a lengthy 33-week break and showing no signs of fatigue, gave them a galloping lesson when she took out a BM68 over 1300m at Hawkesbury. Box-seating to the turn, she found the front nearing the 200m mark and went on to score by more than two lengths over the line with Rachel King at the helm. Even fitter for that run, she lines up here sporting a tongue tie for the first time and has King remaining in the saddle. A trouble-free run here can see her challenging for the major prize.

Race 7: No.6 ITHADTOBEZOU ($16 with bet365)
The John Thompson-trained ITHADTOBEZOU is third-up today and looking a tad overs here, is well worth an each-way ticket in this contest. Last start, the Zoustar mare was second-up where the 1400m trip looked to see her as she finished unplaced, four lengths from the winner at Warwick Farm. Placed third-up previously, the stable fit a tongue tie for the first time and from gate six, she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. The 1250m here looks more suitable as Brett Prebble sticks with her today. She looks value here and a good investment to end the day.
