Gosford galloper BORDER CONTROL is high-flying this time in looks well placed here for his four-consecutive podium finish today. Last start, the Brazen Beau gelding looked home for all money but was nabbed right on the line and had to settle for second prize (again) in a BM72 Hcp over 1100m at Canterbury. Dylan Gibbons has been aboard for all three events this preparation and remains in the saddle for today’s assignment. At his peak here and meeting similar opposition, the drop back in distance also looks ideal and avoiding any dramas today, he looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

The Chris Waller-trained ATLANTIC OCEAN has found his mojo and looks set for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding recorded his first win for this campaign when he finished strongly to arrive in time and grab the win in a BM64 over 140mm at Warwick Farm. Rory Hutchings has the reins today and from gate four, maps to settle just behind the speed. He is seven starts into this preparation so fitness won’t be an issue. With a trouble-free run today, he can go back-to-back in this contest.

Race 7:  No.9  BABY RIDER  ($6 with BoomBet)

To the feature race of the day and the Bjorn Baker-trained BABY RIDER has peaked at the right time and looks ready for an all-out assault on this year’s Summer Cup. Last start, the six-year-old gelding had improved with each run to the stage where he was ready to peak and did so by beating home Listed company in the ATC Cup, here over the 2000m journey with Rachel King aboard. He did it tough at the start, jumping from the outside gate, and had to do some work early to cross and find a sit behind the leader. He took over passing the 350m mark and finished it off with a strong performance to claim victory on the line. With four starts behind him now, fitness is on his side and Rachel King has her fourth ride on him today. He maps to settle just behind the pace from gate five and a déjà vu performance here will see him hard to run down.
