Race 5:  No.4  KAZOU  ($2.50 with Bet Right)

Chris Waller saddles-up KAZOU here who is in great tough this time in and boasts strong claims for victory in this event. Last start, the Zoustar filly made it two wins from her past three stare starts when she clobbered them in Class 2 Hcp over 1250m on the Kensington track. Settling outside the leader, she took over soon after straightening and then raced away to win by 2.5 lengths on the line. She ran that trip out, 4.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by 4 lengths, while posting the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. Kerrin McEvoy has steered the filly to victory previously at his only ride on her and has the reins again here. The wide draw (10) looks the only bridge to cross in securing back-to-back victories.

Race 4:  No.2  PLUNDERING  ($6.10 with BoomBet)

The Annabel Neasham-trained PLUNDERING is third-up here and looks set for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Shooting To Win gelding was second-up and improved enough off his first-up run to claim victory in a BM68 over 1300m, here on the Kensington track. He settled in the one, one and took over inside the final 150m where he went on with it that day. He ran it out, 3 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best here by just half a length to Tashi who resumes from a lengthy 22-week break. He gets the gun-run from gate one here and after the claim, carries 4kgs less than last start. Unbeaten over 1200m and fitter for two runs back, he lines up here as a major player in this contest.

Race 8:  No.1  MALKOVICH  ($10 with bet365)

The Bjorn Baker-trained MALKOVICH is clearly the top-rated galloper here and boasting a first-rate third-up record, looks right in the mix at juicy odds. Last start, the Choisir gelding came off a first-up win in the Listed Hawkesbury Rush (1100m) and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth in the Listed Ortensia Stakes (1100m) at Scone. She brings with her, the best overall record for the 1100m trip, running a personal best of 14 lengths quicker than benchmark set at Flemington in the Listed Bob Hoysted Hcp last year. The five-year-old has five previous third-up appearances on his resume, showing two wins and three runner-finishes. Already a two-time winner here, he looks primed to produce his best in this contest.
