BEST BET 🏆

Race 10:  No.4  GRINGOTTS  ($2.70 with Neds)

Representing the Maher & Eustace stable here is GRINGOTTS who is three starts into this campaign and now looks ready to win. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding took a while to get going and was doing his best work over the final 100m when he claimed third prize in a BM78 over 1300m at Rosehill. He faces similar company here but steps-up to the 1400m where he is already a two-time winner. He gets the gun-run here from gate one as he is joined by Tyler Schiller and a winner when fourth-up last preparation, he ticks enough boxes here to fly the flag and take this contest out.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8:  No.2  ESPIONA  ($3.55 with BoomBet)

Chris Waller saddles-up ESPIONA here who is three starts into this preparation and should be at her peak for this event. Last start, the Extreme Choice mare was far from disgraced when third-up, she finished mid-field in The Everest. Blocked for a run, on straightening, she was then hampered badly and only saw daylight when the six gallopers in front of her were gone and off to fight out the placings. It was a mighty effort to finish within three lengths of Think About It that day. She should find this contest a lot easier and has Kerrin McEvoy on board for the first time. The 1400m is more her distance, having won four of her six races at the trip and with better luck in running here, she should prove very hard to hold out.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2:  No.3  DALAALAAT  ($10 with bet365)

The Nathan Doyle-trained DALAALAAT is three starts into this preparation and looks well placed here to give this contest a real shake at odds. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding fought on well to beat all but one home in a Class 6 Hcp over 1400m at Eagle Farm. Back south of the border now, he meets similar company here over the shorter trip where he is already a three-time winner. A winner when fourth-up last preparation, he is joined by Dylan Gibbons again who has steered him to victory twice previously. Ideally drawn in gate two here, he maps to settle behind the speed and should be at his peak now. A dual acceptor for the meeting, (now scratched from race 10), he looks better placed in this event and a sound investment here with an each-way ticket.
