BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.4  VALENTINA EXPRESS  ($4.80 with bet365)

Locally-trained by Ricky Vale, VALENTINA EXPRESS keeps finding one better lately but gets the chance here for a change of luck today. Last start, the Warrior’s Reward mare finished a bridesmaid again when she beat all but one home in a Maiden Hcp over 1100m at Mackay. Leading from the outset this time, she had it won everywhere but on the post, nosed-out right on the line. Back on home soil today and three starts into this preparation, she will be at her peak for this contest and has Ryan Wiggins back in the saddle as well. The stable have removed the winkers today and fitted a tongue tie for the first time. A trouble-free run here sees her as a genuine winning chance today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8:  No.1  LETMELETGO  ($8.50 with BlueBet)

Jared Wehlow saddles-up LETMELETGO here who is a recent addition to his stable and sees his new home track for the first time today. Formerly with the Matt Dunn stables south of the border at Murwillumbah, the Pierro gelding has had four starts for Wehlow on QLD tracks and missed a podium finish just once (when taking on Class 3 company). Last start, he was unwanted in the market ($12) at Townsville where he turned a few heads, coming from behind to grab third prize in a BM58 Hcp over the 1200m trip. He drops back a touch in grade today and steps-up to the 1300m where he is already a winner. The long (610m) home straight will be right up his alley today and after four starts this time in, he should be at his peak for this contest. Ash Butler has the job today and with a clear run to the line, he could prove hard to hold out here at odds.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.2  TERRIUS  ($8.10 with BoomBet)

Formerly with the Team Sears stable, TERRIUS has his first run for Craig Smith today and after three runs this time in, looks a serious contender for victory in this contest. Last start, he farewelled his former home track at Toowoomba in style by taking out a BM65 Hcp over mile. He meets similar company today but should find the country competition a little easier to compete with as he settles in to new surroundings. The experienced Les Tilley has the reins here and already a three-time winner over the mile trip, he looks set to give this a real shake today.
