Newcastle galloper, QUICK TEMPO, has found his mojo recently and looks set to go on with it in this contest. Last start, the Rubick gelding came off an impressive win in BM84 company at Randwick when she beat all but one home in Open company over 1000m at Kembla Grange on a Heavy 8 that day. Jason Collett has been aboard for rides where he has landed two wins and as many runner-up finishes with the five-year-old and remains in control here. The galloper has webbed feet when it comes to wet tracks, boasting five wins from his seven career-victories. This looks right up his alley.

Race 9:  No.9  LITTLE MIX  ($6.25 with Bet Right)

The Annabel Neasham-trained LITLE MIX is in top-shelf form this time in and is out to bring up the hat-trick in this event. Last start, the Mahisara mare went back-to-back, from state to state as she won a BM80 at Eagle Farm, then franked that effort by winning again at Flemington against similar company. She carried 60.5kgs that day over the 2000m trip and with Blake Shinn aboard, still beat home the 16-strong field. Five starts back, she will be at her peak for this and dropping 7.5kgs can only give her rivals here more to worry about. Podium finishes in all three heavy-track appearances just enhance her chances here. Firming from her overnight quote of $12 is just more food for thought.

In a real open affair, we are running with the Matt Dale-trained MOLLY NAILS to get the job done here. Last start, the Tavistock mare put in her best effort this time in when she beat all but one home in a BM72, here over 1500m with Hannah Williams aboard. Now five starts into this campaign, she should be at her peak for this and jumping from gate three with Jay Ford back in the saddle, she looks a genuine contender here at good odds.
