Race 4 No. 3 KANGAROO COURT ($4.20)

Impressive last start winner KANGAROO COURT goes in as our Best Bet selection for Rosehill Gardens on Saturday. Sat handy to win his maiden at Kembla Grange when resuming before proving costly to punters in a CL1 at Hawkesbury. Adam Hyeronimus followed at the leaders’ hindquarters that day with Kangaroo Court taking an age to balance up. Still looked the winner most of the way up the straight only to have one sneak underneath him and win. Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott were undeterred in taking him to town third-up with Tim Clark settling towards the back of midfield. He worked his way off the fence with Kangaroo Court taking the split inside the 200m and nailing Howgoodareyou on the line.

Race 3 No. 3 KIRKEBY ($6)

Trainer Chris Waller has given KIRKEBY three runs in fairly quick succession since bringing the gelding back to the races. The horse became held-up for runs first-up over 1800 metres here and then perhaps only ground late behind the winner Touristic. Continued to come late when backing-up a week later over 2000 metres when safely held by Manbehindthemoney. Kirkeby had improved enough that day to deny Touristic second placing in a head bobbing go for the minor. Since received a pearler of a ride under Brett Prebble to claim So United on the line and score over this track and trip. Only rises a kilo for the win thanks to the claim Zac Lloyd and we’re getting genuine each-way odds while meeting similar again.

Race 7 No. 2 PEGASI ($20.50)

Interesting to see Morphettville trainer Travis Doudle send PEGASI to Rosehill Racecourse on Saturday. A relative newcomer to the Doudle stable, Pegasi is still eligible for Adelaide class racing with benchmark 78 rating. We are also not quite at the start of Spring racing yet when we’re expecting a few raiders to cross the Victorian border into South Australia. The important factor for Punters, however, is that Doudle has found the right race for his horse. Pegasi has drawn beautifully to follow the speed that’s drawn just outside him. He’s a horse who generally likes to go forward in his races without being a genuine speedster. Pegasi tends to build into his stride off a good tempo and has the ability to be there when the pressure comes on.
