BEST BET 🏆
Race 3: No.7 ONLY LOVE ($4.80 with Ladbrokes)
Chris Waller and Joao Moreira team-up again today (after success with Vienna Princess on Saturday) and have ONLY LOVE engaged here who is having her first look at a Sydney racetrack and looks well placed to score at her Rosehill debut. Last start, the Savabeel mare came off her maiden win at Seymour when she stepped-up to BM64 class and wasn’t disgraced, finishing fourth over the 2433m trip at Geelong. She faces another class rise here but drops in weight and comes in on the limit with 54kgs today. Waller fits the blinkers for the first time and with five starts behind her now, she should be at her peak for this contest. She is expected to drop back at the start and should be doing her best work in the run home. With the light weight here, she will take beating.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.5 ITHADTOBEZOU ($11 with Bet Right)
The John Thompson-trained ITHADTOBEZOU will again try to resume from an 18-week break today and looks well placed in this company to stake a claim for victory. Last start, the Zoustar mare made it to the track, then on the way to the barrier, decided to throw jockey, Josh Parr, out of the saddle, ultimately giving Stewards no choice but to scratch the mare prior to racing. So, today, she is resuming after trialling twice, winning her most recent effort at Randwick. She ended her last campaign finishing unplaced in the Listed Denises Joy Stakes over 1100m at Scone. The 1200m looks more suitable as she is already a two-time winner over the trip. Brett Prebble pilots the mare today and from gate five, she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. Also a winner when first-up, the four-year-old can give this a real shake at odds today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5: No.9 CAPITAL HEART ($13 with Neds)
The John O’Shea-trained CAPITAL HEART has proven himself to be a very consistent galloper with six podium finishes from his seven career starts and looks all set here to keep that trend going today. Last start, the Capitalist gelding stepped-up to BM72 company and did well to finish third in the 1250m event at Canterbury with Zac Lloyd aboard. Drawn gate four today, Lloyd sticks with him here and the extra distance suits. Three starts in, he should be nearing his peak now and certainly looks well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
