Race 6:  No.4  LOVERO

Local galloper, LOVERO is in sensational form of late and has strung together eight-straight podium finishes and second-up today, she looks ideally placed to keep it going in this contest. Last start, the Astern mare resumed after almost six months off the scene when she destroyed her rivals in a BM72 over 1100m at Canterbury. With Jason Collett aboard, she led from barrier to box and embarrassed the opposition in the end, crossing the line 3.5 lengths ahead of them, eased over the line. She has trialled since then to retain her fitness. Jay Ford is the new pilot and from gate two, she maps to be in pride of place on settling. All three of her career-wins have come over the 1100m and fitter for one run back, she will take catching today.

Race 5:  No.3  MARE OF MT BULLER

Shooting for the hat-trick today, the Chris Waller-trained MARE OF MT BULLER ticks all the boxes that suggest her Rosehill debut could be a winning one. Last start, the Dundeel filly came off her maiden win at Kembla Grange when she franked that effort by taking out a BM64 over 1550m at Canterbury. She steps-up in grade today but retains the services of James McDonald who steered her to that last victory. Even fitter for two runs back and ideally drawn in gate two today, she looks in the mix here.

Race 3:  No.4  ANGEL OF LIGHT

The Team Hawkes-trained ANGEL OF LIGHT is four starts into this preparation and should now be ready to produce her best. Last start, the Adelaide mare settled too far back and left herself a big task in the run home where she finished mid-field (beaten less than three lengths) in a BM78, here over 2000m. Today, she steps-up to the 2400m where she should be at her peak and has Zac Lloyd returning to steer the ship. She gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to settle mid-field on the fence, doing little to no early work. Last time in, she won at Sandown after four starts back and looks well placed here to repeat the dose today.
