BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 6 No. 7 THE CLAIMANT- ($5.50)

THE CLAIMANT can go close in Race 6 at Sandown. The Michael Kent-trained galloper takes on the promising Jaykayann but should find this easier after running 6th behind El Patroness in the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Heath (2100m) on April 15. He settled just worse than midfield in that race and stuck on to finish four lengths away. The son of Helmet comes into this full of fitness and gives the impression that the 2400m should suit, while he draws inside the favourite with Craig Williams to ride. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 5 No 5 ROCK ARTIST- ($7.10)

ROCK ARTIST produced a solid return when a narrow runner-up behind Okay To Pay at Cranbourne on April 14 over the 1000m and can go one spot better when he lines up in Race 5. The four-year-old led and was nailed on the line at Cranbourne but should take improvement. He went from an 11th at Cranbourne to a win at Geelong on a Heavy track when second up at his last preparation before scoring on a Heavy at Sandown after that. He is likely to get a Heavy track again and is three from four on the going, while he just missed at his only run at the track and trip. Thomas Stockdale rides and claims the 1.5kg. The apprentice hoop strikes at 20% for the stable, providing a 132% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 7 No.2 MISS ROSEIANO- ($7.50)

Prepared to forgive MISS ROSEIANO for a last start 9th at Listed level in Adelaide. This looks well within her grasp back down to a BenchMark 64. In Adelaide, she was posted wide without cover in the Redelva Stakes and stuck on ok for 9th, beaten four lengths. The Peter Gelagotis-trained galloper was runner-up in her two runs prior to that. She drops in grade and gets the 3kg claim for Laura Lafferty, who just needs to find a spot early on from the wide barrier.
