Sandown Tips 29/11/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 4 ZOUPURRING ($2.70)

ZOUPURRING shapes as a solid player in Race 4 of the day. The four-year-old has won just one of seven but has been close up in a number of those. At his most recent start, the Leon & Troy Corstens-trained galloper led at Ballarat in a BenchMark 64 before being run down late by He’s Handsome, holding a big gap on the rest and going four lengths faster than standard benchmark. He was scratched from Cranbourne Saturday after drawing wide but will jump from barrier 5 for this and will take some beating.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 2 ZAMBORGHINI- ($5)

It was an impressive return from ZAMBORGHINI at Mornington on October 27 over the 1200m and the Matt Laurie-trained galloper can just about make it back to back wins when he steps out in Race 7. The four-year-old settled handy and kept going late in the piece to defeat Empressive Enuff with those two gapping the rest. He was not quite up to some elite performers as a three-year-old last year but looks to have come back in good order. If the son of Zoustar can cross from the barrier early on without burning too much fuel, he will be hard to hold out at the business end.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No. 4 TORONTO TERRIER- ($3.60)

TORONTO TERRIER can get the job done in Race 8. The four-year-old has placed in some solid form races in his two runs this preparation and couldn’t quite reel in Danaustar in a Benchmark 78 at Kyneton over the 1200m at his most recent start. The Mike Moroney-trained galloper comes into this third up and was a noted improper on benchmark figures at this stage of his last preparation when placing behind Russian Dancer in the $500,000 VOBIS Sires Guineas (1600m) at Sandown before defeating Deekay at the Hillside circuit over the 1400m.
