BEST BET 🏆
Race 2: No.4 QUIRE ($3.10 with Bet Right)
The Natalie Jarvis-trained QUIRE resumes off a 17-week break today and after a promising start to her career, looks well placed here to take home the bacon. Last start, the Bon Hoffa filly was second-up when she claimed victory in a Moruya Maiden over 1010m with Shaun Guymer at the helm. From gate one, she led from barrier to box and never looked likely to lost that contest. Ideally drawn again (in gate two), a déjà vu performance looks on the cards today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.3 GENJIRO ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)
The Canberra-based GENJIRO has been here four times previously and taken home the major prize on three occasions and looks all set here to do it again. Last start, the Real Impact gelding was fresh off an 11-week spell when he lined-up here in a Class 2 Hcp over the mile and finished too strong for them, taking the glory by half a length on the line. Damon Budler has him settled just behind the speed (on the fence) and railing like a greyhound, he overpowered them inside the final 100m and went on to an impressive win. Although yet to win when second-up, he gets his chance here as he drops significantly in grade today and should take beating again.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.7 MIL CIENTO ($7 with Neds)
Kembla Grange visitor MIL CIENTO is third-up today and sporting a gear change, can figure prominently in this contest. Last start, the Super One gelding had the blinkers off for the first time and finished mid-field in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Canberra. With Billy Owen aboard, he ran an honest race but didn’t finished it off, running one-paced that day. The stable have made the decision to put the blinkers back on today which could make all the difference. He sees the track for the first time today and fitter for those two runs back, looks well placed here to give this a real shake at odds.
