BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.4  PLISKOVA  ($3.05 with BoomBet)

Local galloper PLISKOVA has finished top-two in all four starts to date and looks set here to continue that trend today. Last start, the Swiss Ace mare resumed after more than 10 months off the scene where she did it easy, taking out a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Dubbo. This contest looks no harder as Rory Hutchings returns for his second ride on the lightly-raced four-year-old. Placed second-up last preparation, she looks a promising type and already has the runs on the board. Ideally drawn in gate three today, she will take a power of beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.5  MARTEDI  ($3.80 with Ladbrokes)

Locally-trained by Paul Messara, MARTEDI is yet to miss a podium finish in his three career starts to date and looks the testing material here again. Last start, the Maurice gelding came off his maiden win at Muswellbrook when he came within half a length of back-to-back victories, finishing second in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1400m. The stable are stepping him up to the mile today as Aaron Bullock remains the only rider to partner him for this assignment. Race tactics could play a major role here as he maps to settle on speed, however this could change with the rise in distance today. He will no doubt strip even fitter from those three runs and remains a genuine threat to this line-up.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.4  SUKHBIR  ($5.10 with BoomBet)

The Kris Lees-trained SUKHBIR is high-flying with two wins from three starts this time in and looks poised for another big performance today. Last start, the Super One gelding brought up his second win this preparation when he took out a Class 3 Hcp over the mile at Taree. Kody Nestor rode him a treat, fighting off his only challenger and finishing best to take home the major prize. This looks no harder as Nestor sticks with him today. Nicely drawn in gate six, he maps to be on or near the speed and even fitter for three runs back, he will take beating again.
