BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.4  VILLA TREVILLE  ($2.50 with bet365

Locally-trained by Stephen Jones, VILLA TREVILLE lines-up here for her fifth race-start and on her home track today, looks the one to beat. Last start, the American Pharoah filly franked her maiden winning effort by taking out a BM58 Hcp over 1007m at Taree. She left from gate number one that day and made every post a winner, settling in the box-seat and going on with it in the run home. Aaron Bullock rode her a treat that day and has the job again here. The three-year-old looks a promising type with plenty of upside and if she can overcome the wide gate (11 of 14), she should prove hard to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.4  INVEST IN LOVE  ($4.80 with bet365)

The Nathan Doyle-trained INVEST IN LOVE is third-up today and has shown enough improvement to suggest she is a prime contender in this contest. Last start, the Capitalist filly came off a poor first-up showing when she came from near last on the turn to grab third prize in a Maiden Plate over 1000m at Muswellbrook. Fitter here for those two runs, she steps-up in distance today which looks ideal for her now while Ben Looker has the reins for this assignment. She does no early work from gate three and maps to settle near mid-field with cover. A trouble-free run today should see her fighting out the finish.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.8  ALL CREEDS  ($12 with Ladbrokes)

The Moree-based ALL CREEDS does the four-hour trip down the Newell Hwy today and second-up makes her Scone debut. Last start, the Jimmy Creed filly was fresh off a six-month absence when she recovered from a bad start to finish third in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m at Gunnedah. That was a big effort on fresh legs while carrying 61kgs around the track. This is a step-up in grade today but she drops 4kgs in the process, has Ben Looker in the saddle and can only strip fitter after that first-up run. She is a winner over 1400m so today’s assignment shouldn’t pose any problems. If she finds clean air in the run home, she should prove hard to hold out here and is well worth an each-way ticket.
