BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)  

Race 4 No. 6 WALK IN THE WOODS – ($3.10)

This looks to be a winnable assignment for WALK IN THE WOODS. The three-year-old didn’t do much on debut over the 1400m at Ballarat before showing improvement over the 1700m at the Warrnambool carnival to run 3rd behind Pannier. He settled closer in the run that day on what was a fast tempo for this grade before sticking on. This looks slightly easier and the extra 150m out to the 1850m should suit. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 1 No 7 RUSSIAN DANCER – ($3.85)

Nice debut effort by WICHITALL and the Symon Wilde-trained galloper can go a couple of spots better at his second career start. At Warracknabeal, he was forced back from the wide barrier after beginning awkwardly before flashing home late behind Sasqualah. The son of All Too Hard went 4.2 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner in this race. He should benefit from the experience and with even luck from barrier 1 with Brad Rawiler on board, he should be hard to beat. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 

Race 6 No. 1 TAHNEE TRADITION- ($4.05)

TAHNEE TRADITION should take a bit of beating in Race 6. The five-year-old has won five of 16 starts and scored at the Oakbank carnival two starts ago before heading to Morphettville and running 5th behind Conqueror. That came in a BM76 over the 1550m and the winner has since gone on to score again. She loomed up before just peaking late. Slight question mark over the 1600m but this is easier and the large claim gets her down to a winnable weight.
