Strathalbyn Tips 27/12/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 3 TAHNEE TREASURE – ($3.10)

Peter Hardacre allowed his mare TAHNEE TREASURE to resume in a country maiden over 1100 metres at Bordertown. She settled behind the speed before taking an age to get to the leaders in the straight. Senior rider Callan Murray got the best out of her inside the last 100 metres to claim the leading pair while getting the nose down on the line. Hardacre sent her straight to town following that run where Tahnee Treasure again could not go with them once the pressure came on. The mare stuck to task in the straight to run through the line over 1250 metres. Given a patient ride from the outside gate of a small field over 1300 metres at Balaklava with her latest run. Tahnee Treasure closed out her race to finish second to Costless and should find this race slightly easier.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 3 THE ICE CUTTER – ($4.55)

Caitlin Tootell brought THE ICE CUTTER with a well-timed run to score in a small field over this track and distance last start. She allowed her mount to settle by the tail before circling the field on turning. The Ice Cutter put them away in the straight to land a comfortable win over this track and distance. Strips fitter for three runs back and local trainer Grant Kluske finds a similar sort of race again for The Ice Cutter.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1 No. 3 NO ENTITLEMENT – ($5.60)

Strathalbyn trainer Alexander Justice found a good race at Gawler Racecourse for NO ENTITLEMENT who has raced without a lot of luck this prep. Showed no early speed first-up before Felicity Atkinson chartered a path back to the inside. No Entitlement was going so well that she did find the front a bit too soon and peaked on her run to finish second. Ran up behind them and was not fully tested at Murray Bridge. Again found horses coming back onto her at Strathalbyn two starts ago to run fourth to Santastico yet again. No Entitlement has been given a slight let-up following her recent forgive run at Gawler and should find some space under Rochelle Milnes on Wednesday.
