BEST BET 🏆   

Race 5 No. 3 WANNASCHMACK ($3.45)

Nicole Irwin gets WANNASCHMACK out to a trip two starts after breaking his maiden over the mile in Murray Bridge. We backed the horse as our best bet of the day in that maiden which he dominated under regular rider Callan Murray. Wannaschmack found the front a little earlier than Murray would’ve liked before grinding away up the big straight for a strong win. Irwin then gave the horse another run over 1700m in a restricted 58 race where Wannschmack was one of the only horses to make ground on the day. Shapes as though the extra trip will suit.

NEXT BEST 🥈   

Race 7 No. 1 MIDNIGHT RUSH ($6)

Not sure what happened with MIDNIGHT RUSH when he was beaten a long way from home last start. We’ll put a line through the run as trainers Richard & Chantelle Jolly bring him right back in class from his previous few starts. Made ground in town second-up in a race we’ve marked to follow which was won by Iornedge. Similar again in his next start without much luck when finishing behind the placegetters in a race won by Solar Blast. We wrote the names of the runner-up’s in both of those races with Fanmalia and Texan Windstorm each saluting in their next outing. The form is there and this is probably D-Day for Midnight Rush as he gets out to a trip for the first time.

BEST VALUE 💰   

Race 4 No. 8 NURYS ($9.50)

We’ll stick with NURYS after backing her when she ran second as our Value Bet over this track and distance two starts ago. She missed the kick to lob a fair way from the second last horse when racing on debut. She finished well enough once balanced into the straight to show there might be some ability there with this one. Jumped far better under Justin Huxtable to lob towards the back of midfield over 1100m prior to her Strathalbyn start. Nurys again finished strongly once balanced with a rise in trip looking ideal. Gave us a great sight when running second to Electra Blue and can figure in the finish again.
