Race 7 No. 4 BELLALIQUE ($3.50)

Good race to end the card at Strathalbyn Racecourse on Wednesday where we will side with the Richard & Chantelle Jolly trained BELLALIQUE. The mare didn’t find a lot of room at a vital stage into the straight under inexperienced stable apprentice Punky Brewster. Brewster had Bellalique travelling comfortably under her through the early stages before attempting an inside run. She had to peel outside the heels of the field as the winner Zufasta had found his way clear to open a winning break. Bellalique finished stylishly into second with back me next start written all over her. Gains the services of stable senior Jake Toeroek for her first look around the track at Strathalbyn.

Race 6 No. 3 GARRIRE ($4.60)

Lachlan Neindorf found a good spot around midfield and one-off the fence aboard GARRIRE as the field strung right out here two starts ago. Neindorf got on his bike early to come out and chase the tearaway leader with Garrire hitting the front prior to straightening. This proved to be a winning move from Neindorf as Super Alana followed him in to challenge from the top of the straight. A battle royale ensued amongst the two horses who came right away from the rest with Garrire coming out on top. Race didn’t quite pan out as we expected when we made Garrire the best on the program here last start. Worth forgiving the run after being caught 3WNC the speed under apprentice Ivy Lam and so we’ll back him again in a similar race on Wednesday.

Race 1 No. 6 NURYS ($7.10)

Murray Bridge trainer David Huxtable brings two horses to Strathalbyn Racecourse on Wednesday. Both of his runners are a chance at a price and we’ll be hoping that Alice Lindsay can slot into a spot from her wide gate aboard NURYS in the opener. The mare missed the kick to lob a fair way from the second last horse when racing on debut. She finished well enough once balanced into the straight to show there might be some ability there with this one. Jumped far better under Justin Huxtable to lob towards the back of midfield over 1100m at Clare last time. Nurys again finished strongly once balanced with a rise in trip looking ideal.
