Race 5:  No.1  TYCOON EVIE  ($3.50 with Bet Right)

The Team Snowden-trained TYCOON EVIE is third-up here and with J.Mac on board for this contest, she looks a prime candidate for the Listed race. Last start, the Written Tycoon mare wasn’t disgraced when finishing fourth in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Crown over 1300m. Now fitter, this is a little easier as James McDonald is in control for the first time. Already a three-time winner when third-up, she is well drawn in gate six and maps to settle just behind the pace. With a trouble-free run here, she looks the one to beat.

Race 6:  No.12  LADY LAGUNA  ($6.25 with Bet Right)

The Annabel Neasham-trained LADY LAGUNA has found the podium at her past four starts and should be cherry-ripe for a crack at this year’s Guineas. Last start, the Overshare filly found her best form when she finished best to take out the Listed Mick Dittman Plate over 1110m at Doomben. Damien Thornton had her box-seating most of the way and she finished best to claim the winner’s purse that day. Thornton sticks with her here and from gate four, she maps to be box-seating again. Rock-hard fit after five starts back, she will take a ton of beating here.

Race 1:  No.10  PERSEIDS  ($6 with BlueBet)  

Local galloper PERSEIDS is a track specialist and first-up here could prove hard to beat. Last start, the Star Witness gelding ended his last campaign, beating all but one home in a BM80 Hcp, here over 1200m. He resumes after a 14-week break and is joined by Damien Thornton, having his first ride on the five-year-old. Already a two-time winner when first-up and a two-time winner at the track, he has proven to be a handful on fresh legs and will take holding out in this contest.
