BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 4 INTROVERT – ($12)
Murwillumbah trainer Matt Dunn brings INTROVERT over to the Sunshine Coast as his only runner for the day. The former kiwi has been okay in both runs this time in, including with his first-up fourth back at home. Jumped evenly with them before being asked to come back into a midfield position by his rider. Introvert made ground between horses to the turn before holding his own into the straight. Missed the kick slightly last time which saw him settle further back than seemingly intended. Made ground inside of horses again before holding his own into the straight. Both races had been leader dominated and Introverted will have stripped fitter for the efforts.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 3 CAPODANNO – ($9.50)
CAPODANNO rises in class while holding his weight for his recent win at Kilcoy. Racing in career best form which saw him give his rivals a galloping lesson on the sand track of Gympie. Mathew Powell was able to control the race to his leisure before the pair kicked away to put eight lengths on them into the straight. Settled outside on the Heavy 9 track at Kilcoy last start before going to him early. Spurious went with Capodanno to keep him company with these two fighting a war into the straight. Powell and Capodanno succeeded in holding the outside horse at bay while the pair put some eleven plus lengths back to the third horse. Deserves his chance this grade now as he chases the hattrick of wins.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 3 No. 11 BEEOKAY – ($26)
Adam Briskey welcomed former South Australian galloper BEEOKAY into his stable with an okay run at Toowoomba a bit over a week ago. Showed his customary gate speed to hold a prominent position on the fence while following the speed. Did give ground late in the piece, however the run showed he will handle himself in his new adoptive state. Did cross the border following a failed attempt on a Heavy 10 surface over 1200 meters at Gawler. Runs prior to that were sound and Beeokay can surprise a few at odds here.
