BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 4 FEMME FATALE – ($3.40)
Eagle Farm trainer Kelly Schweida will saddle two-year-old FEMME FATALE as his sole runner at the Sunshine Coast racecourse on Sunday. An early day is a good day and Femme Fatale can make it an even better day with a repeat of her debut performance. She bounced straight to the front over this track and trip before being challenged by the top of the straight. The outside horse stuck with her as they ran past the 300 metres before Jimmy Orman shook Femme Fatale into gear. She put a few lengths on them rather quickly to run time. Comes out of fillies’ grade now and only has to hold that form to take the next step.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 1 EVERLAST – ($2.90)
Justin Huxtable and Chris Munce team-up with consistent maiden galloper EVERLAST. The horse was inclined to overace under Huxtable at times while fresh when racing first-up over 1350 metres at Doomben. Huxtable still managed to get Everlast to come back underneath him during the middle stages of the race. The bird may have flown by the time he had Everlast ready to wind-up as they turned into the straight. Everlast put in the big strides up the middle to ensure third place was his behind Valantino Roc. Everlast will strip fitter for the run and is rarely far away.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5 No. 3 MISHANI MISSILE – ($7.50)
The wide barrier draw has no doubt played its part in allowing us a price about MISHANI MISSILE at The Sunshine Coast tomorrow. All of his wins have come on this track, including one at the trip. Ben Thompson had Mishani Missile travelling for him towards the back of midfield while being one off the fence last start. That was when Mishani Missile was racing second-up over 1640 metres at Doomben. Thompson made an early move to circumnavigate the field on turning. The pair looked the winner into the straight as Mishani Missile came rushing up the middle of the track with a promising run. They had perhaps got there too soon and did succumb late to the swoopers. Fitter and would be clear best bet had they drawn in a little closer.
