BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.3  OUTBURST  ($2.60 with bet365)

The Michael Lakey-trained OUTBURST makes his Corbould Park debut today and after three starts back, looks a big chance of victory here. Last start, the Real Impact gelding looked impressive when third-up, he beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1835m at Eagle Farm. He ran his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, second-best here behind Tarex who sees the 1800m for the first time today and is yet to find the podium after four starts this campaign. Boris Thornton has been in the saddle for the five-year-olds past two runs and sticks with him here. He draws well here in the small field and should settle on the leader’s heels. In good touch now, he can take this out without surprising.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.10  SARSEN  ($4.40 with bet365)

Gold Coast galloper, SARSEN, is back in great touch and if he can overcome his wide draw here without too much fuss, he should prove very hard to beat today. Last start, the Exceed And Excel gelding was second-up when he finally shook the maiden monkey off his back to claim victory, here over 1300m. He ran the trip out, half a length quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. Jaden Lloyd steered him home that day and remains in saddle for today’s assignment. He has good early gate speed and could settle mid-field with cover here. Now a winner at the track and fitter for two runs back, he can get the job done here today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3:  No.7  GALAXY GENERAL  ($8 with bet365)

The Lee Freedman-trained GALAXY GENERAL has returned to the track in fine form and third-up today, looks a genuine winning chance. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was sent out a $1.75 favourite but an increase in weight and distance seemed to take their toll as he could only manage to grab third prize on the day. After finishing more than three lengths from the winner, he was vetted but cleared of any problems. He drops back in distance here and has Samantha Collett on board for the first time as he makes his track debut as well. Fitter for two runs in and nicely drawn in gate two, we are prepared to forgive him for his last run and put him up as our Best Value runner today.
