Sunshine Coast Tips for Sunday, October 15

Our form expert provides Sunshine Coast tips for today’s horse racing at the Corbould Park Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.6  BEAST MODE  ($2.50 with bet365)

The David Vandyke-trained BEAST MODE is high flying at the moment and will take a ton of beating here. Last start, the Better Than Ready gelding made it seven-straight podium finishes when he finished a close-up third in a four-way go on the line. Justin Huxtable was aboard that day and remains in the saddle for today’s assignment. He has drawn wide but his early gate speed has him settling just behind the pace. Fitter for two runs back and already a winner when third-up, he looks a super chance of remaining unbeaten at the track and distance as well.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.9  ZOUMETEOR  ($3.50 with Ladbrokes)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained ZOUMETEOR resumes off a 13-week spell today and boasting a strong fresh record, looks right in the mix in this contest. Last start, the Zoustar gelding came off a good win in Class 2 company at Eagle Farm when he finished unplaced on the same track, after taking on a Class 3 field ten days later. Back on home soil today, James Orman returns for this assignment after steering the four-year-old to victory in his maiden win. He has drawn wide but maps to settle back in the field and should be doing his best work late. Already a winner when first-up and a winner at the track and distance, he looks a serious player amongst these today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2:  No.2  SET ME UP  ($6.60 with BoomBet)

The locally-trained SET ME UP is third-up today and looks well placed here to bring up win number five on home soil. Last start, the Star Witness mare came off an ordinary first-up run at Doomben when she surprised punters (as a $17 chance) by taking out a BM68 Hcp, here over 1800m. Ridden an absolute treat by Jaden Lloyd, she settled last of the ten runners, eight lengths off the speed where she remained until the turn. Lloyd weaved his way through traffic and arrived in time to spoil the party and take the honours on the line. Lloyd sticks with her today and unbeaten in two starts at the track and distance, she can take home first prize again here.
