Our form expert provides Sunshine Coast tips for today’s horse racing at Corbould Park Racecourse and gives his best bets.

BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.4  OCEAN ZAR  ($3.60 with Ladbrokes)

The O’Dea & Hoysted Team saddle-up OCEAN ZAR here who is third-up and already in the zone as she shoots for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Zoustar filly improved off her first-up run when she broke through for her maiden win over 1400m at Eagle Farm. With Ben Thompson aboard, she drew the carpark in gate 12 (of 13) and settled back in the field, but finished strongly to cross the line more than a length in front of them. Much better drawn today in gate five, Thompson sticks with her as she sees the Corbould Park track for the first time and coming off a convincing win and fitter for two runs back, she should prove hard to beat again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8:  No.11  SECRET MEMO  ($4.60 with Neds)

Another from the O’Dea & Hoysted stable is SECRET MEMO who has found her mojo now and looks in good shape here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Capitalist filly came off a couple of ordinary performances when she turned it all around and led from barrier to box in a BM58 Hcp over 1200m at Kilcoy. On a Soft 5 that day, she did well to cover the 1200m in a slick 1:09.7. Emily Lang sticks with her here and after her claim, less weight in similar company and from gate six, she maps to settle on speed again. After four starts this time in, she will be at her peak for this contest and should give us a bold showing today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.5  DARK HARMONY  ($4.40 with Bet Right)

Formerly with Renita Beaton, DARK HARMONY has his second start for new trainer Chris Munce today and returning to Provincial class, looks a major player in this contest. Last start, the Mikki Isle gelding has no luck in running as he finished unplaced in a Class 1 Plate over 1200m at Eagle Farm. He was never clear of trouble and couldn’t secure a run and the effort is best forgotten. Placed here at his only previous start at the track, the competition should be a little easier and he has the in-form Martin Harley on board for the first time. The step-up to the 1400m looks well timed where he has finished runner-up in two starts over the trip previously. Ideally drawn in gate three today, he shapes up as a serious contender for the main prize.
