BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.2 BEAN SHAMELESS ($5.50 with bet365)
The Stuart Kendrick-trained BEAN SHAMELESS is third-up today (having his fourth race-start) and has shown enough so far to indicate he ready to break through in this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding showed a ton of improvement when he beat all but one home in a 1350m Maiden at Ipswich. He found the front in the run home but after throwing a shoe, couldn’t hold off the challenge of one other, beaten less than a length on the line. Premiership leading rider, James Orman, takes the reins today and from gate five, the three-year-old maps to settle in the first half-dozen. Fitter for two runs back, he should take beating today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 10: No.2 MR GALAZI ($7.50 with bet365)
The David Murphy-trained MR GALAZI has had success on the Corbould Park track and now three starts into this campaign, looks set to continue building on his already glowing resume and lay down his claims for victory in this contest. Last start, the Irish-bred gelding came off a Class 4 win at Ipswich when he beat all but one home over the 1050m sprint at Doomben. Already a winner when fourth-up, the four-year-old draws well here in gate four and maps to settle near the speed again. Georgina Cartwright has steered him to all four career wins to date and is in the saddle for this assignment as well. Also boasting a win here over the distance, he looks the testing material today.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 8: No.6 SLEIGH QUEEN ($9 with bet365)
Annabel Neasham saddles-up SLEIGH QUEEN here who is three starts into this campaign and looks a winning chance here at odds today. Last start, the Shalaa mare came off a second-up win at Ipswich when she was a little disappointing, finishing unplaced in a Class 3, here over 1400m. She had the run of the race (one out, one back) and was given every opportunity by Damien Thornton, but didn’t go on with it, although never stopped trying. They all have ‘off-days’, so allowing for that, she is worth another chance here and is well worth an each-way ticket today.
