Race 8:  No.14  SUNSET SOIREE  ($4.80 with Ladbrokes)

The Tony Gollan-trained SUNSET SOIREE is third-up today and unbeaten in two starts at the track, looks poised to bring up another victory here. Last start, the Deep Field mare was second-up and not disgraced when finishing sixth in a Class 3 Plate over 1300m at Eagle Farm with Kyle Wilson-Taylor on board. She drew wide (9 of 14) and settled too far back to be a winning chance but finished off nicely, beaten just two lengths on the line. Kyle Wilson-Taylor sticks with her today as the four-year-old draws much better here in gate two. The rise in trip looks ideal and already a winner when third-up, she will strip fitter and take beating here.

Race 5:  No.7  SHEZA FIRECRACKER  ($10 with BlueBet)

Local galloper, SHEZA FIRECRACKER, is in career-best form of late and looks a solid chance for a fourth-straight win today. Last start, the Your Song mare came off back-to-back wins here when she made it a hat-trick by taking out a BM70 Hcp over the mile at Eagle Farm. That was her first crack in city class company and made it two from two for jockey Bailey Wheeler. She meets similar company here and has Wheeler sticking with her for this assignment who brings his 3kg claim with him. The mare gets the gun-run from gate one and with a clear run to the line, looks hard to hold out again. Already a four-time winner on her home track, she can give this a real shake at odds today.

Race 6:  No.7  ZHUANG SHI  ($17 with bet365)

One at big odds today is the Stuart Kendrick-trained ZHUANG SHI is second-up today and ticks enough boxes here to make things interesting. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was fresh off a 15-week spell when he impressed by finishing third in a BM70 Hcp over 1050m at Doomben. Slowly away, he settled mid-field on the fence and turning for home, was held up before finding clean air and running home well to grab that bronze medal. He should find this contest a little easier as he returns to the provincial scene Andrew Mallyon has his first ride on the four-year-old today who is already a winner when second-up and a two-time winner on his home track as well. He looks a touch overs here and is well worth an each-way ticket today.
