BEST BET 🏆

Race 2:  No.5  LA AMIGO  ($2.40 with Unibet)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained LA AMIGO is second-up today and looks well placed here to continue on his winning way. Last start, the Squamosa gelding resumed off a 20-week absence when he led from barrier to box in a BM70 Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. On fresh legs, he gave them a lesson, putting 2.5 lengths on the field over the line, carrying 60kgs that day. All boxes are ticked here, as he lines-up, unbeaten when second-up and boasts five wins from nine starts at the track. Jasmine Cornish steered him to that first-up victory and is in charge again today. This is his first look at Open company today, but with his resume, who would rule him out. He looks the goods here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8:  No.5  EUROMATIC  ($3.20 with Palmerbet)

Chris Munce saddles-up EUROMATIC here who is second-up today and sporting a gear change, looks right in the mix. Last start, the Eurozone mare was far from disgraced when finishing fourth in a BM65 Hcp over 1200m at Eagle Farm. She settled near the tail of the field that day and passed plenty in the run to the line. She won second-up last time in and today will be wearing the blinkers for the first time. Nicely drawn in gate five today, the mare maps to settle in the first half dozen and has Larry Cassidy remaining in the saddle for this contest. With a trouble-free run here, she could prove to be a real handful to hold out in the run home.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.5  ROSE OF SEBRING  ($8 with TAB)

The Tony Gollan-trained ROSE OF SEBRING is third-up today and should be ready to fire her form at this field. Last start, the Sebring mare finished five lengths back from our Best Bet today (La Amigo) over the unsuitable 1000m sprint. She drew the outside gate that day and just couldn’t keep up with them, finishing down the track. Today should be a different story. The stable fit the blinkers for the first time as the mare steps up to the 1200m trip where she boasts three podium finishes (including a win). Drawn better in gate five today, she has already tasted success when third-up and has saluted on the Corbould Park track as well. Fitter for those two runs back, she give this a real shake at good odds today.
