Stephen Jones saddles-up CUSTO here who returns to country racing and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Deep Field gelding came off a good victory at Scone when he tackled the city gallopers in a Class 3 HWY Hcp at Randwick. Caught three-wide all the way, he had nothing left to offer in the run home, finishing unplaced in the 1000m event. Back to a more suitable contest here, Aaron Bullock rejoins him today (after steering him to the Scone win) and from gate five, maps to be just behind the speed on settling. With a clear run home and avoiding any mid-race dramas, his Tamworth debut looks like being a winning one today.

Race 2:  No.3  BURRANEER BUOY  ($3.50 with Ladbrokes)

Muswellbrook galloper BURRANEER BUOY is three starts into this campaign and looks every chance of going back-to-back today. Last start, the Denman gelding was third-up and showed a ton of improvement to take out a Class 2 Hcp, here over 1400m. With Clay Gallagher aboard, he took over on the turn and was clearly headed soon after, but fought back like a caged tiger to regain the lead and go on to a gutsy win. Gallagher sticks with him today and unbeaten in two starts at the track, he looks the one to beat again.

Race 1:  No.4  INFOURDAVICTORY  ($6 with Unibet)

The Stirling Osland-trained INFOURDAVICTORY has been knocking on the door lately and gets her chance here to break through for her first career-win. Last start, the Rubick mare made it consecutive bridesmaid finishes when (again) she beat all but one home in a 1300m Maiden at Moree. Osland puts her over the mile today where she is nicely drawn in gate three and maps to settle in the first half dozen. Ash Morgan jumps aboard for the first time today and fourth-up, she should be at her peak for this assignment and is in the mix at odds today.
