BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.4  OUTBACK RINGER  ($2.60 with bet365)

Locally-trained by Cody Morgan, OUTBACK RINGER ticks most of the boxes here and looks the best of the day. Last start, the Outreach gelding was second-up off a 22-break break when Aaron Bullock chose to settle him in front which paid off as he led all the way to win a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1000m. Bullock sticks with him today and a wide gate could see him choose to take a sit behind the battle up front with plenty of early pace in this contest. Now a track and distance winner, and placed at his previous third-up appearance, he looks set for back-to-back home track victories today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.1  HALLOWED SON  ($3.50 with Picklebet)

Having just his second start for new trainer Wayne Brown today, HALLOWED SON looks set for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Hallowed Crown gelding returned to the track after 10 months off the scene and gave his new stable something to cheer about when he finally broke through for his maiden win over 1280m at Muswellbrook. He did it tough that day, drawing the outside gate (10) and trapped three-wide without cover most of the way. Today, Grant Buckley has his first ride on the five-year-old who is much better drawn in gate two and maps to settle mid-field on the fence. A trouble-free run here should see him fighting out the finish today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.6  TRIPLE MONEY  ($3 with Ladbrokes)

The Paul Shailer-trained TRIPLE MONEY ticks enough boxes here to be considered a winning chance in this contest. Last start, the Pins gelding came off a big win at Taree when a change of race tactics proved unsuccessful, seeing him finish last of the seven runners in a BM68 Hcp over 2040m at Doomben. With Bailey Wheeler aboard, he tried to lead all the way but the task beyond him. He returns to country class racing today and looks far better suited in this company. Aaron Bullock has a 100% strike rate with the five-year-old (two from two) and is back for today’s assignment. Drawn out today, it is most likely he will take a sit behind the pace here and be in contention when the whips are cracking. His only previous appearance here saw him break his maiden (four starts back) and a second win on the track looks more than possible.
