Race 7:  No.7  SATAY CHICKEN  ($4.80 with Palmerbet)

Cody Morgan saddles-up SATAY CHICKEN here who is a home-track specialist and second-up today will take beating here. Last start, the Iffraaj gelding did well to finish third BM58 Hcp, here over 1200m on a Heavy 9 that day. Lumping 61kgs on a wet track, he still managed to finish within 1.5 lengths of the winner with Aaron Bullock on board. Fitter for that run today, he is nicely drawn in gate four and after Braith Nock’s claim, he carries 5kgs less than last start. A dual acceptor with the Dubbo meeting today, Morgan has chosen to run him here and yet to miss a podium finish in six career starts, the lightly-raced four-year-old looks genuine contender in this contest.

Race 5:  No.2  AGNODICE  ($6 with Palmerbet)

Locally-trained by Cody Morgan, AGNODICE is four starts into this preparation and looks a solid chance for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the well-bred Street Boss filly found her mojo and finally broke through for her maiden win, here over the 1200m trip. With Ash Morgan aboard, she hit the front passing th2 200m mark and went on to put two lengths on them over the line. She should be at her peak now and the 1400m looks ideal for her today. Ash Morgan sticks with her for this assignment and now that the maiden monkey is off her back, she looks set to go on with it here.

Race 3:  No.5  MYSTIC ISLE  ($6.50 with Ladbrokes)

The Brett Cavanough-trained MYSTIC ISLE is second-up today and sees the Tamworth track for the first time. Last start, the Mikki Isle filly came off a lengthy 21-week break when she did well to finish third in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Gunnedah. Drawn the outside gate (9) that day, she settled last with Grant Buckley aboard and in the run home, threaded her way through traffic to arrive in time to grab the last spot on the podium. Fitter for that run and already a winner when second-up, Ash Morgan takes the reins today and with a trouble-free run, the three-year-old can figure here today.
