BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.4  SWIFT CHARM  ($2.45 with BoomBet)

The Brett Dodson-trained SWIFT CHARM is second-up here and has impressed in his four starts to date. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding came off a 14-week spell when he beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp over 1006m at Grafton. He sat mid-field and wide most of the way and finished off strongly to claim the runner-up cheque that day. Matthew Bennet has enjoyed success with him, being aboard for all four starts where he has steered him to victory on two occasions. The step-up in trip today looks ideal and with a little more luck in running, he should prove hard to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.5  ROBARGE  ($6.50 with Palmerbet)

The Tuncurry-based ROBARGE is no stranger to the Taree track, boasting a solid record here, and second-up today looks well placed to add to her already glowing stats. Last start, the five-year-old mare came off a nine-week break when she beat all but one home in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m at Port Macquarie. Cejay Graham had the reins that day and jumping from gate ten, the mare did well after travelling wide most of the way. Already a winner when second-up and a winner at the track and distance, Graham sticks with her today and she looks in the mix at odds here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.9  WOKENWITHAKISS  ($7.50 with bet365)

Local galloper WOKENWITHAKISS has found her mojo of late and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Ad Valorem mare went one better than her last start here when she took out a BM58 Hcp over 1200m at Port Macquarie. Unwanted in the betting, she left the gates a $16 dollar chance but after taking over from the tiring leaders, she hung on to take home the chocolates that day. Ben Osmond returns for today’s assignment, (after riding the runner-up behind this mare last start), where he has shared the joys of victory with her previously. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she is already a two-time winner at the track and trip and comes in 1.5kgs under the limit here, after the claim. There are too many boxes ticked here to ignore and at juicy odds today, she looks well worth an investment in this contest.
