Race 5:  No.11  SLUSH FUND  ($5 with Picklebet)

The Jason Deamer-trained SLUSH FUND has found his mojo after three starts this preparation and looks well placed here to lead this field a merry dance today. Last start, the Capitalist gelding was having his first start for the Deamer camp (after transferring from the Maher & Eustace stable) and wasted no time when he broke through for his maiden win over 1300m at Tuncurry. He led from barrier rise, but was clearly headed by two others on straightening. That was short-lived as he found another gear and with the head up and ears pricked, he hit the line hard to win by a length in the end. Today he has a new rider as Andrew Gibbons hits the saddle for the first time and from gate one, he maps to be box-seating on settling. Coming in on the limit, he has been well treated at the weights and looks the one to beat in this contest.

Race 7:  No.5  GOLD COUNTER  ($10 with Bet Right)

Stephen Jones saddles-up the Scone-based galloper GOLD COUNTER here who is four starts into this preparation and looks well placed to bounce back for another win today. Last start, the Counterattack gelding came off a win at Armidale when he finished unplaced in a BM66 Hcp over 1000m at Gunnedah. Placed twice in two starts here, he should be at his peak now and gets the gun-run from gate one today. After the claim, he carries just half a kilo over the limit here and should be box-seating on settling. Yet to crack it over this distance, this looks like his best chance to date. (Currently) at double-figures, he looks a little overs for this and warrants an each-way ticket today.

Race 6:  No.10  SHE’S A REVELATION  ($13.20 with BoomBet)

The Robert Agnew-trained SHE’S A REVELATION was impressive on debut and a repeat of that effort here, sees her as a major contender in this contest. Last start, the Russian Revolution filly made her racing debut and did it in style when she crossed the line 1.5 lengths ahead of her rivals in the 1000m event at Kempsey. She led from barrier to box that day with Courtney Bellamy in the saddle. She has barrier eight today but still maps to cross and lead them as Bellamy sticks with her for this assignment. If they leave her alone to dictate terms again, she can go back-to-back today and is certainly worth an each-way ticket here.
