Race 2 No. 3 ACTIVE DUTY- ($2.30)

ACTIVE DUTY should be hard to beat in Race 2 of the day at Terang. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper has placed in all three of his career starts and stepped out over the 1400m here on February 23, running on to fill the exacta behind Super Snitch. That came off a six-week break and he produced the fastest last 200m to go 0.3 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is six lengths better than the next best last start benchmark figures of any runner. Fred Kersey rides and strikes at 22% when combining with the stable, providing an 11% profit on turnover.

Race 8 No. 2 UNSEEN RULER- ($3.50)

UNSEEN RULER can go close in the final race of the day at Terang. The four-year-old returned from a spell at Ballarat recently and was back in a slowly run affair before running on for 5th over the 1400m behind Shove Over. The 3rd horse home that day has since come out and won a BenchMark 70. Unseen Ruler will strip fitter for this and was a second up winner at his last preparation, while the step up in trip should suit.

Race 7 No. 5 FIORENTE SPRITZ- ($6.50)

FIORENTE SPRITZ is worth a bit of thought in Race 7. The six-year-old has been consistent in this grade all throughout this preparation and stuck on well for 4th at her most recent start with that coming in late January at Geelong over the 1708m. Three starts ago, she was dominant at the track and trip, scoring by just under three lengths in a race that has produced a couple of winners. Harry Coffey rode that day and partners the daughter of Fiorente again.
