Race 4:  No.1  ROWEINER’S DANCE  ($2.05 with Ladbrokes)

The locally-trained ROWEINER’S DANCE is one very promising galloper and boasting six wins from his eight starts here, he looks the best of day. Last start, the Sidestep gelding brought up his second winning hat-trick when he clobbered his rivals in a Two-Year-Old Hcp, here over the 1000m sprint. He flew the gates and led on settling and from there, it was just a procession as he left the rest to fight out the minors. He crossed the line almost eight lengths ahead of the field that day, running his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best last start effort here. Not surprisingly, he also posted the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. He faces similar company today but steps-up to the 1200m for the first time. Apprentice Jade Doolan is in the saddle for her first ride on the talented two-year-old and after her 3kg claim, the gelding still has to carry 61kgs, up 1.5kgs on that last win. He still looks too good for this field.

Race 8:  No.2  SMART IMAGE  ($3.15 with BoomBet)

The Trevor Rowe Racing Team saddle-up SMART IMAGE here who will be out to atone for demise here two weeks ago and still on top of his game, looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Smart Missile gelding lined-up in Open company, here over the 1000m trip but had to settle for second prize when beaten home by (our tip) Yes Dream that day. He still ran the fastest final 600m sectional and all other sectionals were quicker than the winner that day. Krysten Swaffer has been aboard for his past two runs and has the reins again today. Drawn better today in gate five, he maps to settle mid-field with cover and fitter for those two runs back, he should prove hard to hold out here.

Race 9:  No.2  INVESTOR  ($3.45 with BoomBet)

Another Rowe Racing Team galloper is INVESTOR who is third-up today and looks a serious player in this field. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding was second-up and soon put his best foot forward when he proved too good for them in a Class 6 Hcp over 1250m on his home track at Cairns. Lumping 61kgs, he settled mid-field and once they were homeward bound, Stephen Wilson wound him up and away he went, going on to win by 1.5 lengths under a good hold. Local rider Graham Kliese has the job today and has had previous success with the five-year-old. Already a winner when third-up, he looks right in the mix here (having already won at Cluden Park) and will take beating.
