BEST BET 🏆
Race 3: No.5 HURN COURT ($2.80 with Unibet)
This event will resemble the charge of the light brigade as (currently) the 14-strong field battle it out over the 1000m sprint. Among them is the Dubbo-based galloper HURN COURT who is fitter for three starts this preparation and is capable of taking this out today. Last start, the Outreach gelding tried another crack in the city, but was again outclassed in a HWY Class 3 contest over 1200m at Rosehill. He drew the car park that day (gate 17) and his race was pretty much over at the barrier, but still ran home well, despite finishing five lengths from victory. He covered his last 600m, 5.6 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 10 lengths. Clayton Gallagher is back on board today, having won on the five-year-old previously, and boasts a 28% success rate with the stable. Leaving gate five today (after early scratchings), he returns to the country scene and will find this assignment a lot easier.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 1: No.1 WUNAMBAL ($1.90 with Palmerbet)
Dubbo galloper WUNAMBAL carries the heaviest saddle today but on form, still looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Wandjina gelding had Clayton Gallagher in the saddle and along with 61.5kgs beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp over the mile at Coonamble. He couldn’t match it with the winner that day, but beaten less then a length and put almost two lengths on the rest across the line. With three runs under his belt now, this looks no harder as Gallagher sticks with him today. He maps to settle just behind the pace form gate six and with a trouble-free run here, he looks winning material in this field.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.8 MORGENSTERN ($4 with BlueBet)
Unbeaten this time in, the Brett Robb-trained MORGENSTERN sees the Warren track for the first time today but has the runs on the board to suggest he will take beating here. Last start, the More Than Ready gelding brought up his fifth career-win when he proved too strong in a BM66 Hcp over 1200m at Coonamble. No stats are available for that meeting where he settled mid-field and just finished over the top of them that day with Clay Gallagher aboard. He is now two from two with the five-year-old and has the reins again today. He maps to settle mid-field again here from gate five and a clear run to the line should see him finishing strongly again.
