Race 3 No. 1 BILL THE BOXER- ($3.40)

BILL THE BOXER can go close in Race 3. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper has had two runs off a 10-week break and was 3rd in the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Sprint (1200m) on April 15 at Sandown behind D’Jumbuck. That form looks good for this and if the forecast rain arrives in the lead up to Thursday this will only enhance his chances. Look for him to cross from barrier 11 and be strong late in the piece. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 1 No 6 PORT GUILLAUME- ($5.50)

Looking to get the final day of the Warrnambool carnival off to a flyer and PORT GUILLAUME can open up with a win. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper made his debut over the hurdles on April 16 at Pakenham over the 3200m on April 16 and was solid with a 3rd placing behind Nelson. That came on a Heavy 10 track and he was stepping up from an 1800m race prior to that. The six-year-old will no doubt benefit from that hitout and has been kept safe in the early betting.

Race 8 No.13 FLASH FLOOD- ($10)

Best Value comes up in Race 8 and it is FLASH FLOOD that is worth thought at the each-way quote. The five-year-old was a winner at Pakenham four starts ago and has since placed in two of his past three, while he was luckless in the other. The Maher/Eustace galloper last stepped out at Sandown on April 15 and settled just forward of midfield but couldn’t quite reel in the likes of Tonneofgrit and Kooled. He stuck on well to go down half a length and drops 2.5kg for that effort, while the son of Night Of Thunder is a winner at his only go at the track and trip.
