Race 7 No. 1 BRUNG KING- ($2.85) 

Best Bet comes up in the Port Fairy Cup and BRUNG KING should be hard to beat. He has had just the one run this preparation for a dominant win on Heavy going at Ballarat over the 1400m back on December 9 ahead of Atmosphere, while there was another decent gap back to 3rd. The four-year-old is a slight unknown on Good tracks but improved with racing at his last preparation, winning three races, including a second up performance at Ararat before scoring at both Flemington and Sandown. He should have improvement to come off his first up effort and the 3kg claim for Jaylah Kennedy gets him down to a winnable weight.

Race 6 No. 2  MISTER ME-  ($3.70) 

A field of just six gallopers line up in the Koroit Cup and MISTER ME shapes as another chance on the day for the Symon Wilde stable. The five-year-old claimed the Donald Cup (1620m) three starts ago before missing out on a Soft deck in the Werribee Cup (1600m). At his most recent start, he stepped out at the track and trip and stuck on well to fill the exacta behind Mystery Island, going 1.6 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. He might push across from barrier 6 in a race that lacks tempo and should give a sight at the business end. 

BEST VALUE 💰   

Race 2 No. 2 INALA ATICUS- ($7.60) 

This looks to be a winnable race for INALA ATICUS. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper showed improvement at his most recent start, placing 3rd at Terang over the 1200m on January 1. He is on the short back-up for this and did a few things wrong in the early to middle stages before sticking on well behind Dalton Dancer. Discrepancy in the betting between him and the race favourite, Boot Of Cortez and the son of Turffontein represents value at the price.
