The Team Snowden-trained MISS HELLFIRE is second-up today and looks well placed to give this contest a big fright. Last start, the Hellbent mare was fresh off a lengthy 20-weeks absence when she fared well in finishing third in a BM78 Hcp over 1100m at Rosehill with Jett Stanley aboard. She is already a winner when second-up and is yet to miss the podium after three second-up appearances. She draws the outside gate (9) today but maps to cross and settle near mid-field with cover. She won in this company last preparation and has Stanley sticking with her for this assignment. A trouble-free run here can see her collecting the major prize today.

Race 4:  No.2  THE SEVEN SEAS  ($7.50 with Bet Right)

John Sargent saddles-up THE SEVEN SEAS here who drops sharply in grade today and can figure in the finish in this contest. Last start, the Merchant Navy mare came off four-straight podium finishes (including two wins) when she faced Listed company in the Ladies Day Cup at Hawkesbury. The class was a little too rich for her that day, finishing unplaced on the Heavy 8 track. After Molly Bourke’s claim here, she carries just 1kg more than last start and from gate three, maps to settle just behind the speed. Watch for a sharp improvement today.

Race 2:  No.8  DEBELLO  ($9 with Bet Right)

The Gary Portelli-trained DEBELLO is in top-shelf form this preparation and down in grade today looks a good chance of upsetting the applecart at odds in this contest. Last start, the Deep Field gelding came off a strong win in a Class 1 at Kembla Grange (on a Heavy 8) when he stepped-up to BM68 company and finished a gallant third, he over the 1000m sprint. Last on the turn and the widest of them all, he ran home strongly and only just missed second prize on the line. Alysha Collett was aboard for both of those events and today, big brother Jason has the reins for his first ride on the three-year-old. After four starts back, he should be at his peak today and will be running on again.
