BEST BET 🏆
Race 8: No.13 WAIKIKI ($3.50 with Bet Right)
Chris Waller saddles-up the promising WAIKIKI here who has hit the ground running this time in and at the weights here looks a major player in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Capitalist filly came from behind to get up in time and claim victory in a BM64, here over 1100m. Kerrin McEvoy is the third rider to in as many starts to steer the ship today as she maps to settle back in the field from gate six, saving her best for a big finish. Down in weight today and now a track and distance winner, she looks the testing material here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3: No.3 BAT OUT OF HELL ($6 with Picklebet)
The Maher & Eustace-trained BAT OUT OF HELL looks back on track after two starts this time in and looks right in the mix here today. Last start, the Hellbent gelding came from back in the field and finished strongly to grab third prize in a BM64 over 1250m at Canterbury. Already a winner when third-up, he has also been successful at today’s distance and ideally drawn in gate two, he looks a serious contender for the major prize here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.6 POWERFUL PEG ($8.10 with BoomBet)
Fresh off a 14-week spell, the Kris Lees-trained POWERFUL PEG ticks enough boxes here to suggest she is a prime contender for the main prize today. Last start, the Rubick filly ended her last campaign with six-straight podium finishes when she got the bob in and took home first prize in a Three-Year-Old Hcp, here over 1300m. Dylan Gibbons has ridden the filly in seven of her nine career starts and found the podium in six of those races, including two wins. Already a winner when first-up, she has saluted three times over the trip as well and if she can overcome the wide draw here (11), she can threaten these with a solid run to the line.
