Race 3: No.2 ANGEL FUND ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)
The locally-trained ANGEL FUND is two starts back from a six-month break and unbeaten this time in, looks set for the hat-trick today. Last start, the Capitalist filly came off her maiden win at Gosford when she franked that effort by taking out a Class 1 contest over 1100m at Wyong. This will be her first start on her home track with Jason Collett sticking with the three-year-old after steering her to those two victories. She gets the gun-run from gate one today and is expected to settle off the early speed. With a trouble-free run here, she looks a serious contender for the main prize.

Race 5: No.5 RAMONES ($7 with Bet Right)
Joe Pride and Jason Collett team-up again here with RAMONES who is second-up today and looks well placed in this contest for a big performance. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was fresh off a 20-week break when he beat all but one home in a BM72 Hcp over 1100m at Canterbury. He loomed as a major threat but his condition gave out, seeing him finish half a length from victory that day. Collett will be out to break a hoodoo of his own today after four previous rides on the three-year-old all resulted in runner-up finishes. Ideally drawn in gate two today and a winner when second-up last preparation, he will give this a real shake.

Race 4: No.8 THE REPLICANT ($15 with Palmerbet)
Joe Pride saddles-up The Replicant here who is second-up today and looks ready to party. Last start, the Tivaci gelding came off a 14-week spell and on fresh legs did well to finish third in a BM68 Hcp over 1250m at Newcastle. He steps-up to the 1400m trip today where his previous four attempts at the distance all resulted in minor placings. Jason Collett has his second ride on the four-year-old here and from gate seven, maps to settle near mid-field with cover. Placed in all three previous second-up runs, he will be out to crack a few hoodoos here today and looks well placed at (currently) double-figure odds.
