BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.4  DIMITROV  ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)

The John O’Shea-trained DIMITROV has placed in both career starts to date and looks well placed here to make it third time lucky today. Last start, the I Am Invincible colt lined-up in a 1200m Maiden Hcp at Canterbury where he beat all but one home that day. Box-seating all the way, he was held up in the run home and once clear, chased the leader (Manwe) all the way to the line but was unable to bridge the gap. Fitter and more experienced now, he steps-up to the 1400m today and has Nash Rawiller as the pilot today. He has drawn out here but his early gate speed sees him settling mid-field with cover. A trouble-free run here sees him figuring in the finish today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.4  LOLLY YEATS  ($4.40 with BlueBet)

Annabel Neasham saddles-up LOLLY YEATS here who ticks enough boxes to suggest she will play a major role in the outcome of this contest. Last start, the Lawman mare was third-up when she led all the way to win a BM72 Hcp, here over 1600m with Adam Hyeronimus in the saddle. The five-year-old carries 2kgs more today and has Hyeronimus sticking with her for this assignment. Now a track and distance winner and at her peak for this contest, she maps to lead again and looks set for back-to-back wins today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.8  RIVER SNITTY  ($5.50 with Bet Right)

The Chris Waller-trained RIVER SNITTY is second-up today and looks the testing material in this contest. Last start, the Snitzel gelding was first-up after more than a year off the scene still proved too strong for them, winning a BM64 over 1300m at Hawkesbury. He settled back in the field, eight lengths off the pace, but had too many guns in the run home and found the line in front of the 10-strong field. He steps up in grade here but drops 2kgs in the process and has James McDonald sticking with him for this assignment. Ideally drawn in gate two and fitter for one run back, he will prove hard to hold out today.
