BEST BET 🏆
Race 2: No.1 PRESS FORWARD ($2 with Palmerbet)
Trained by Brett Robb at Dubbo, PRESS FORWARD is second-up today and is worthy of breaking through here. Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding was fresh off a six-month break as he changed stables (formerly with Gary Portelli) when he was unlucky not to win on debut for the new stable. In a 1000m Maiden on his home track, he finished strongly, but arrived too late and had to settle for second prize with Clay Gallagher in the saddle. Gallagher sticks with him today where the extra trip should suit him here. Fitter for that first-up run, he looks the testing material in this contest.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5: No.9 MAJORITY ($2.60 with Ladbrokes)
Brett Robb and Clay Gallagher team-up here again with MAJORITY who is fourth-up today and after a hat-trick of minor placings, she looks ready to win here. Last start, the Sebring mare came from behind to claim her third-straight bronze medal in a BM66 Hcp over 1200m at Moree. The five-year-old joined in passing the 200m mark and made it a three-horse battle to the line, beaten less than a length on the day. Gallagher boasts a 26% winning strike rate with the Robb stable as he tries here to improve on those stats. With a trouble-free run today, the mare can end the run of outs here and take the glory in this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.6 SUN CITY BELLE ($10.20 with BoomBet)
The Clint Lundholm-trained SUN CITY BELLE has been ever-consistent since day one and second-up today, looks set for back-to-back wins. Last start, the Casino Prince mare was fresh off an 18-week spell when she proved too strong in the end, taking out a BM58 Hcp over 1000m on her home track at Dubbo. Unwanted first-up ($15), she was steered to victory by apprentice Hollie Hull after being under pressure from the turn, all the way to the post. She faces similar company today with Hull sticking with her for this contest. A trouble-free run here can see her saluting again at very generous odds.
